Beautiful Mistake by Vi Keeland • Review Blitz

The first time I met Caine West was in a bar.

He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out.

When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight—telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass.

You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend–smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married.

He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he’d done.

Especially when that lazy smile graced his perfect face in response to my rant.

Only it turned out, the man I’d just told off wasn’t the right guy.

Oops. My mistake.

Embarrassed, I slunk out without an apology.

I was never going to see the handsome stranger again anyway, right?

That’s what I thought…until I walked into class the next morning.

Well, hello Professor West, I’m your new teaching assistant.

I’ll be working under you…figuratively speaking.

Although the literal interpretation might not be such a bad thing—working under Professor West.

This was going to be interesting…

Vi Keeland is known for slightly risque’ forbidden type romances. This one is no exception. She writes using a formula that works for her.

Rachel’s first impression of Caine isn’t a good one. She mistakes him for her friend’s cheating ex. Come to find out, she had the wrong guy which shouldn’t be an issue because she’ll never see him again… until… She realizes she’s his new teacher’s assistant. She’s clearly attracted to him, but she can’t figure out where he stands. He’s hard to read, until he lays it all on the table… including something from his past.

Once Caine and Rachel get together, the connection is pretty hot. Vi has this way of writing brooding, dirty talking males that make anything she writes, hard to put down. I did find that it took awhile to get to that ‘connection’ with Beautiful Mistake. I also didn’t find Rachel as likable and quirky as her other female leads. There were a few times that she came across as annoying. Overall, still a good read with a slight twist that will keep you hooked.
